Alex is a technologist and builder with over a decade of experience turning early-stage ideas into enterprise-grade platforms. As Head of Engineering at Oluko Learning, he brings a deep conviction that well-crafted technology can expand access to opportunity, and that the best products are built by empowered teams with a clear mission. He is drawn to Oluko's belief that learning should build rather than reset, and that every learner's strengths deserve to be carried forward across classrooms, grades, and experiences.

Alex comes to Oluko Learning from Pearson, where he served as Principal Architect on Credly, the world's leading digital credentialing platform. He first joined Credly as Director of Engineering, growing the team and evolving a freemium MVP into a robust enterprise product. He later guided the platform through two acquisitions, navigating complex technical consolidations while continuing to ship impactful products at scale.

Beyond the platform work, Alex has been a consistent voice in shaping the open standards that make credentials portable and trustworthy across the web. As Co-Chair of the Open Badges Workgroup at 1EdTech, he contributed to the Open Badges 2.0 and 2.1 specifications, the foundation of modern digital credentialing. That work deepened his belief in systems that recognize the full picture of what a person knows and can do, a belief that connects directly to Oluko Learning's work with New Insights.

Outside of work, Alex finds respite at his cabin, takes to the open road on his motorcycle, and feeds his love of travel. He believes that staying curious in all corners of life makes for better engineering and better teams.
