As Vice President at Cambiar Education, Carlene leads the scaling of high-quality programs designed to strengthen student-facing organizations.  She advises and collaborates with education leaders and cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement and fortify the internal systems necessary for sustainable success.  Carlene manages complex initiatives and implementation strategies, ensuring Cambiar’s partnerships with school systems, higher education institutions, and nonprofits reflect the highest standards of excellence and credibility.

As a dedicated servant leader, Carlene committed 30 years of her career to improving academic outcomes for students. Before joining the Cambiar Education team, Carlene served as the Chief Network Officer at Chiefs for Change, leading the Member Services and System Support departments.  As a former Assistant Superintendent for the 10th largest school district in the nation, she was responsible for leadership development, performance management, professional development, and new teacher support. Additionally, while leading in The School District of Palm Beach County, she served as a Regional Superintendent / Principal Supervisor.

Carlene’s foundational expertise was built over 23 years within the Fulton County School System in Atlanta, Georgia. She led by example as the Area Executive Director responsible for a diverse portfolio of elementary, middle, and high schools. She also served in the role of teacher, assistant principal, and principal.  Her impact in the field has been recognized with multiple honors, including being named Principal of the Year for the South Learning Community and Teacher of the Year at both the elementary and middle school levels.

Carlene earned a Bachelor of Arts in Middle Grades Education and a Master of Arts in Middle Grade Curriculum from Clark Atlanta University. She also earned certification in Administration and Supervision from the State University of West Georgia.

Carlene, a native of Flint, Michigan, currently resides in West Palm Beach, FL, where she is the proud mother of two daughters and two fur babies.
