Real change in education requires both building promising new models and technologies and creating the conditions for new approaches to take hold and reach every young person. LearnerStudio works alongside practitioners, researchers, funders, and other leaders across sectors to catalyze change and build the evidence, infrastructure, and solutions needed to redesign public education around human flourishing.
With Cambiar's support, LearnerStudio launched its work on the future of learning in the age of AI. In 2025, they engaged more than 1,000 leaders through their events and network, ran the Liftoff Design Sprint to help entrepreneurs design new models for a future-ready learning system, and published research including Learning to Flourish in the Age of AI and The Future Tech Stack.

Few people in education have started this many organizations and had this much of a hand in shaping the field itself. Kim was a founding team member at Teach For America, co-founder of NewSchools Venture Fund and Bellwether Education Partners, and later founded the Pahara Institute to strengthen a generation of education leaders. Along the way, she's helped incubate dozens of education and mission-driven ventures and written widely on educational entrepreneurship and innovation. That decades-long view of the field, seeing both the promise of new ideas and the limits of innovation without the conditions for it to take hold and spread, is what led her to launch LearnerStudio.
